Connecting Your USB Microscope to Software

If you are looking to download our software/driver, which is the software that allows you to connect your Carson digital microscope (i.e., Zorb, eFlex, or zPix models) to your computer, please follow the instructions in this article.

Download & Install

If you haven't already downloaded the software for your microscope, please do so here.
If you have previous Carson microscope software or any version of xploview installed, please uninstall that software first, reboot your computer, and then install the latest software using the link above.
Choose the appropriate download for your operating system. Our USB microscopes are compatible with Windows and macOS computer operating systems with USB ports.

Troubleshooting:

If your laptop has a built-in webcam, the software may default to the webcam upon install. To switch to your USB microscope, open Settings (by clicking on the gear icon) and change the device to "USB Microscope."
If the microscope is still not appearing, it may be due to a USB camera lock-out issue (this can occur on Windows computers due to their privacy policies). Please follow this article to learn how to resolve the issue.
At this time, our USB microscopes do not support connection to smartphones, iPads/tablets, or Chromebooks. If you would like to connect your USB microscope to one of these devices, you may purchase a USB-to-device connector and use third-party software to make our USB microscopes compatible with other devices. However, we do not directly support this usage.

If you are looking for other phone support for our digiscoping products (optical products that can connect to a smartphone), please visit our MultiCam webpage.
